Yeah, I played the demo back then too and was so surprised, having never played one before, so I went and ordered all of them XD I played some more since then, they were great, but no VN held tht magic as Polyphonica. And it helped that ep 1 left so many answers open (well, the whole series did, but that got me into the VN's). Normally that series wouldn't have caught my eyes if I haven't fallen in love instantly with the characters and the music.
